📖 About the University
Multimedia University (MMU) is Malaysia’s first private university, established in 1997 by Telekom Malaysia. With main campuses in Cyberjaya and Melaka, MMU plays a leading role in developing highly skilled graduates for the digital and creative industries.
The university offers more than 100 programmes at foundation, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels across areas such as engineering, information technology, computer science, creative multimedia, business, law and communication. MMU is particularly well known for its strong focus on digital technology, innovation and industry collaboration.
MMU hosts around 12,000 students, including over 1,000 international students from more than 70 countries, creating a diverse and vibrant campus environment. In global rankings, MMU is placed in the 851–900 band of the QS World University Rankings 2026 and in the 1001–1200 band of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, reflecting its growing reputation in teaching and research within the digital and technology fields.
